You may not be aware of it, but this common baking ingredient that you use to add fluff to your cakes is also a potent beauty product that can replace all other cleaning products in your home. Baking soda really really that cool! These eight unique applications for baking soda will surprise you.

Treat acne

Amazingly effective at killing microorganisms, baking soda is great for your skin. It works well to exfoliate dead skin cells and leave your skin smooth and clear. It stops new acne from forming and dries out existing acne. To make a paste, combine one teaspoon of baking soda with one teaspoon of water. Apply it to a clean face in a circular motion, then wait a few minutes. Apply some moisturizing moisturizer after washing it off.

Skin Rejuvenation

Your skin will benefit greatly from a simple mixture of two tablespoons of freshly squeezed orange juice and one tablespoon of baking soda. This reviving mask gives your skin a complete cleaning by getting rid of dead skin cells and other impurities. It has a lot of vitamin C and restores the pH balance of your skin. Apply the paste as you would any other face mask, then wait about 15 minutes before removing. Apply a couple times per week and rinse with warm water.

Bleach teeth

If you use a simple soda paste on a regular basis, your teeth will become noticeably whiter. To create a thick paste with the consistency of toothpaste, combine baking soda with a few drops of water. Use a toothbrush to apply it to your teeth in gentle circular strokes. You should be extremely careful while using baking soda since it can easily destroy your enamel. Do this for 5-7 days straight, every day, and then just a couple times each week after that.

Get rid of facial hair

Baking soda is effective against face hair, indeed! Bring half a cup of boiling water to a boil and add one spoonful of baking soda. Combine the two, allow the mixture to cool slightly, and then soak a bandage in it. Apply the bandage to the affected region after squeezing off the extra liquid. Leave for the night and repeat daily until you see a difference. Remember to moisturize your skin after using this baking soda mixture because it can quickly cause your skin to become dry.

Foot Softening

You can exfoliate your feet with baking soda because it works so effectively as an exfoliant. Two to three tablespoons of baking soda, a large basin or bucket for your feet, a pumice stone, and some moisturizing lotion are all necessary for a relaxing foot bath. Make a foot bath with baking soda and warm water, and then soak your feet for around 15 minutes. After removing the dead skin cells with the pumice stone, generously apply a moisturizing cream or lotion. After, it’s advisable to put on some warm socks. Repeat this several times per week until your feet are completely smooth and supple.

Pristine silverware

Jewelry and silverware can be cleaned with baking soda. In a basin coated with aluminum foil, combine baking soda and warm water for the best results. Put your jewelry in the mixture to soak; the majority of the tarnish will fall into the water. Apply a gentle cloth to any remaining stains to clean them.

Removing the odor

Although stinky shoes might be a genuine problem, there is a quick fix you can use whenever. Baking soda quickly eliminates odors of all kinds and makes your shoes odor-free. You can immediately sprinkle some baking soda into your shoes and leave them there for a day before discarding them. Additionally, you can fashion unique purses or little sachets from fabric or socks. Put them inside your shoes after filling them with baking soda.

Care for sunburns

It is said that baking soda might soothe skin irritation, itching, and sunburn. Sunburns can be treated by taking a bath in which a cup of baking soda has been added. Ensure that you have covered every inch of damage. A paste made of baking soda and a little bit of water can also be applied to the sunburned region and allowed to dry. After 10-15 minutes, rinse. To determine whether using baking soda in this manner is safe for you, it is usually advisable to test the paste on healthy skin first.
