9 Foreplay Positions That Are Fun Enough to Be the Main Event

When discussing sex positions, we frequently concentrate only on the main action: where to do it, how to do it, and how to move from one aspect of doing it to another. Foreplay stances, the same things that prompt us to engage in it in the first place, are mostly absent from this conversation. This lapse is at best irresponsible and at worst illegal. After all, a middle and an end are not possible without a beginning. And frankly, without putting in at least a little effort up front, one can’t expect to realistically expect to arrive to a satisfying ending.

The foreplay position is attractive because of its natural adaptability. It won’t ever feel out of place whether you use it at the beginning, the end, or in the midst. Foreplay is not literally introductory, but it does not require an introduction because that is its entire purpose. Every foreplay position has the potential to be an opening act, but many may also double as sideshows and major attractions. The foreplay positions alone can be used to create a diverse sexual repertoire. But if you try making one without using any at all, you’ll probably notice the lack.

Of course, some could counter that the reason foreplay positions are so frequently disregarded is that there aren’t that many of them. Foreplay can be done in a few different methods, all of which are very self-explanatory. Yes, but sex itself may also be compared to it. Even though everything is very simple, we nevertheless come up with slightly novel solutions and examine all of its intricate details. We should be able to give foreplay its due if we’re prepared to invest so much time and effort in getting it on. Everything would seem a little lackluster without it. However, when it is there, the same series of activities can feel utterly inspired.

Virgo

The Virgo is the ideal sign for spontaneous oral sex or foreplay that seems a little unusual. Start by assuming a back-to-wall position. Your partner should be able to cross their legs and sit down in between your legs while facing you, with enough space between you. Once your companion has full access to your nether regions, lean against the wall while bending your knees. From there, you can get into some intense oral and finger play, and your partner may even try to grip your butt.

High Dog

The Low Doggy is thrilling enough to stand on its own, but it also makes a great lead-in to from-behind penetration. Laying down on your bed, a couch, or another comfortable surface is a good place to start. To make things a little cozier, feel free to slide a pillow under your pelvis while bending your knees so that your feet are in the air. Invite your companion to climb up onto you so that their head and knees are in line with yours. They can then use their fingers or a toy to poke holes in you from there (LELO Enigma is great if you want a particularly intense experience). Additionally, they can grasp your hair and pull it for a bit more excitement.

The Mirage is a foreplay position that invites participation from both you and your partner. Begin by lying down on the floor with your knees bent and your feet firmly planted (or, you know, on the bed, couch, or whatever). Invite your companion to knead next to you, facing your legs and straddling your head. From there, they can stoop down to access your genitalia, which should give you complete access to theirs. From there, you can go down on them and they can excite you with their fingers or a sex toy.

Temptation

A great method to pump up the heat is to listen to The Temptation before, during, or even after sex. Ideally, you should start by lying down on the edge of a surface that is fairly high up. Consider a table, a counter, or perhaps a bed (provided it is sufficiently lofted). Laying down, bend your knees and draw them close to your chest until your feet are quite high in the air. You could even lean slightly forward and support yourself by bending your elbows behind you if that’s more comfortable. Invite your companion to come over at that point. They ought to be facing you while standing. Once they’re there, they can reach down and stimulate you with their fingers or a toy (I prefer suction devices for this kind of position, such Womanizer Premium or Unbound’s Puff for individuals with clits). What’s best? You are face to face in this foreplay position, allowing you to kiss each other continuously.

womanizer-premium

For those seeking foreplay that is completely novel, The Reverse is a great choice. Begin by lying down on your back with your knees bent and your feet firmly on the ground. (The bend can be rather minor; just pay attention to what gives you a sense of stability and comfort.) Allow your spouse to lie on top of you. Their head should be in line with your legs, and they should be facing the ceiling with their legs bent and straddling your head. Once there, adjust till your partner’s genitalia are within a few inches of your mouth, allowing for some intense oral play.

Hunger

Even if you’ve never referred to it by that name, The Hunger is a traditional foreplay position that you’ll probably remember. Begin by bending your knees and sitting on the edge of the bed with your toes touching the floor. To kneel in front of you facing you, ask your spouse. From there, kids can play with their fingers and their mouths in a variety of ways. If you’d like, they can even stimulate you with a toy. This position begins on the bed, making it the ideal transition into more traditional penetrative sex as well as other forms of foreplay.

Tamer

The Tamer is a very comfortable form of foreplay that is appropriate for both drowsy mornings and evenings. Invite your spouse to lie on their side next to you, perpendicular to you, with their upper body resting between your legs. You should be able to look each other in the eye. If not, one of you is facing the opposite direction! From there, they ought to have little trouble getting to your genitalia, giving them room to use their fingers or a sex toy (Dame’s Com Wand Vibrator is a fantastic choice for this one) to enliven you. And you can activate them by reaching behind yourself

The Compliment is a timeless foreplay move that anyone can easily incorporate into their sexual toolbox. Just behind the edge of your bed, ask your lover to get on their knees. Then get down on your knees in front of them. Once you can readily access their genitalia, make any required adjustments and then stimulate them with your tongue, your hands, or a sex toy.

By another name, Pendant 69, the Pendant invites you and your spouse to enjoy each other equally. Ask your spouse to lie down with their feet in front of them and knees bent. You can then crawl up on top of them while facing them, with your legs straddling their chest and your head tucked between their knees. From there, you should be able to access their genitalia, and they should be able to access yours to a limited extent. This should offer you both the chance to arouse one another as you see fit, whether it be with your lips, your hands, or a few sex toys.
