Al Roker had a very memorable Thanksgiving this year because he had just returned from the hospital following treatment for blood clots in his leg and lungs. The 68-year-old Today co-host was thrilled to spend the holiday with family, but apparently had to be “rushed” back to the hospital 24 hours later owing to difficulties, a source told People.
After Thanksgiving, Al was taken urgently to the hospital, the person claimed. His health was “worrying, but once back in the hospital, he improved,” a witness informed Page Six of his state.
According to reports, Deborah Roberts, Roker’s wife, was locked out of her car and had to be transferred in an ambulance. “The automobile had problems. She was unable to retrieve her phone or any of her possessions,” the source told People.
For the first time in 27 years, Roker was unable to attend the Macy’s Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade on that day. Regrettably, he was also unable to attend the lighting of the Rockefeller Tree in New York City on November 30. Roker sent a health update via his friends and coworkers at Today following his readmission.
